Tension headaches are the most commonly reported type of headache, characterized by a persistent feeling of pressure or tightness around the head. The exact etiology of tension headaches remains unclear; however, research suggests a strong association with psychological factors like stress, anxiety, and depression. This association is so well-established that tension headaches are frequently referred to as “stress headaches.”
